Since the announcement of Hytale’s return and the confirmation of its early access release on 13 January 2026, interest in private servers has continued to grow. The game, now taken over by the founders of Hypixel Studios following the sale of Riot Games, will place a strong emphasis on community creation, modding and personalised experiences.
Why anticipate the creation of your Hytale server?
The early access offered in January will be a version that is still evolving, and may contain instabilities. Public servers are likely to be saturated in the first few weeks. Opening your own private server will avoid queues, guarantee better performance and give you complete control over world and gameplay settings.
Hytale also relies on a server-based modding model: scripts, tools and modifications will be hosted on the server side, making customisation easier without requiring complex manipulations for players. This makes private servers a central part of the experience from day 1, just like in Minecraft.
Another issue is availability. Demand will rise sharply between the opening of pre-orders on 13 December and the release. We can expect stock-outs like when Palworld was released 🙂
What configuration do I need for a Hytale server?
In the absence of official final specifications, current estimates are based on the requirements of a procedural sandbox game with integrated modding.
For a small group of players (5-10), a light configuration is all you need:
- 2 to 3 vHigh-frequency cores
- 4 to 6 GB RAM
- NVMe storage
For a community server (15-40 players) :
- 3 to 4 vCores
- 8 to 12 GB RAM
- Anti-DDoS and CPU priority essential
For a modded server or an advanced project (mini-games, custom adventure) :
- 4 to 6 vCores
- 12 to 20 GB RAM
- Automated back-ups and enhanced monitoring
These are our estimates, which will evolve as information from the studio becomes available.
